Anna Kendrick doesn’t seem to want to be a mom, and that’s her choice. Moreover, she decided to make it heard by speaking publicly about this decision, which is often contested in today’s society. During an exclusive interview for the media Peoplethe 39-year-old star, known for her role in Pitch Perfect spoke about his decision for the first time: “I was thinking recently about a phrase I heard men say about their desire to have children in the future, and it occurred to me: I don’t think I’ve ever heard a woman say that. And what they say is, “Yeah, maybe one day, some kids running around.”
“I am the childless cat lady”
The actress then explained that this image of the man with children running around him and the woman taking care of her husband bothers her. She added: “It’s like when I hear husbands say they want to ‘help’ with the kids. And they are two working parents!” She then admitted that she didn’t want children: “And I always want to say something, and then I’m just like, ‘Well, I’m the cat lady with no kids. I’m not going to say s—.’”. In another interview given to GuardianAnna Kendrick had been clear: “I never think about having children.”

She’s not the only celebrity to have chosen not to have children. Actress Jennifer Aniston has been transparent about her long struggle to have children and the grief over parenthood she has experienced today.
For the magazine Allureshe declared: “I feel a bit of relief now because there’s no more ‘Can I?’ I don’t need to think about it anymore (…). I would say in my late 30s, 40s, I had gone through some really tough times, and without having gone through that, I would never have become who I was meant to be. I have never felt better than I do now, better than I did in my 20s or 30s, or even mid-40s.”
Renée Zellweger declared in 2008 that becoming a mother had never been an “ambition” for her. She does not have any children to date, but is enjoying her role as stepmother to the children of her partner, Ant Anstead.
