Anna Faris quits the CBS series after seven seasons Mom. That’s what the actress, who plays the role of Christy, has announced on Friday.
“The past seven years have been some of the most rewarding and rewarding years of my career,” the 43-year-old actress said in a statement. “While my journey as Christy has come to an end, allowing me to pursue new opportunities, I will watch next season and cheer on my TV family.”
The news of her departure comes just days before the filming of the sitcom’s eighth season. It is still unclear how Faris’s character will be written from the show.
Mom is about a single mother, Allison Janney, and her daughter, Anna Faris, who have been out of touch for years because they were both addicted. Together they work on their relationship and try to get their lives back on track after a lot of alcohol and drug use.
