Anna Ermakova sings her way out: “The public hated me…” | Entertainment

When Anna Ermakova (24) wears her headphones, she is in a different, better world. Then she feels protected and strong, nobody can harm her.

“Anyone who knows me well knows that I practically live in my headphones. Even as a child, I realized that music enhances every experience, every feeling and makes my life better,” the daughter of tennis legend Boris Becker (57) and ex-partner Angela Ermakova (56) tells BILD.

Anna lives in London and speaks a pleasant mix of English and German. She recently spent a few days on holiday in Italy with several friends from her studies (art history). Anna has completed her master’s degree and is now pursuing her artistic side professionally, especially music. “As a child I sang in a choir, later I took singing and dance lessons and took drawing courses.” She is radiant and seems confident and happy.

On Friday, their first album was released: “Behind Blue Eyes”, named after the world-famous ballad by the British rock band The Who (1971), which the US band Limp Bizkit successfully covered in 2003.

Anna has reinterpreted the song and has already sung the title in one of the ARD live shows by entertainer Florian Silbereisen (43). Anna covers 15 songs, including “Sweet Dreams” by the “Eurythmics” and “Son of a Preacher Man” by Dusty Springfield.

“This album means everything to me. For as long as I can remember, the world of music and film has been my personal refuge. A reliable safe space where absolutely nothing can happen to me,” she says.

“Music gives me a feeling of comfort and security and allows me to be myself. When I wear my headphones and listen to music, I can let go. It helps me to organize my emotions and recharge my emotional batteries. Every song on the album has accompanied me through good times and bad. They are the soundtracks of my life.”

She smiles: “You could also say: music saved my life.”

“My album is about self-reflection and self-discovery. Working on my songs taught me to believe in myself and to stay true to myself. I had a difficult childhood and grew up with a lot of prejudice. The public hated me without knowing me. Only because of the decisions my parents made. For a long time I only lived out my fears, dreams and desires in music because I am naturally shy.”
