– The biggest reason is that my back hurts so much. I don’t quite have the motivation to keep it in check.
Anna Dyvik made her World Cup debut in 2016 in the Slottssprinten in Stockholm. Her best individual result is a fourth place in the sprint in Falun 2018 and in Trondheim 2020.
The back stops
But after the Tour de Ski in the intervening days, there have been no more World Cup competitions for Dyvik. Illness and back problems have bothered the Swede. And precisely her back, which she first operated on for a herniated disc in 2012, is now putting an end to a continued career – this season will be Dyvik’s last at the elite level.
– A bit sad, it’s quite mixed feelings. It has grown during this year, says Dyvik to SVT Sport.
Dyvik has done one WC and two Olympics for Sweden. She has two SM golds in sprints and three JVM golds as her greatest achievements.
