The board of the Swedish Film Institute has appointed Anna Croneman as CEO of the Film Institute. She is expected to take office in mid-April 2024.
Anna Croneman is a trained producer at the Dramatic Institute. She comes most recently from Sveriges Television, where she has been working as program director for SVT Drama since 2017, and before that from the production company Avanti Film, where she was one of the founders. Anna Croneman has produced a large number of films and TV series and held positions of trust as vice-chairman of the Film Institute’s board and in the Film&TV Producer Centers.
– The Swedish film is facing tremendous challenges, and the assignment feels a bit dizzying at the moment! But it is of course a great honor to take on the role of CEO of the Swedish Film Institute. I thank you for the trust and promise to do my utmost to, together with film-competent staff and the most skilled representatives in our entire industry, make sure to create new, better conditions for future Swedish film and for the preservation of our film heritage, says Anna Croneman.
– The board is looking forward to Anna Croneman being the one who will now lead the Film Institute forward. With her solid background in film and television, she has the skills and qualities needed and she enters the business at the right time in view of the recently started film investigation.
– We also want to take the opportunity to say thank you Åsa Sjöberg who recently had the role of acting CEO and ran the work in a very meritorious way, says the chairman of the board of the Film Institute Gunilla von Platen.
