In the 1/8 finals of the WTA-250 tournament in Jiujiang, Anna Bondar from Hungary will play against Italian Martina Trevisan.
Anna Bondar
The 27-year-old representative of Hungary started in singles at a tournament in China the day before yesterday. In the 1/16 finals, Bondar played a difficult match, but still in three sets Anna beat Arianne Hartono from the Netherlands – 6:2; 2:6; 7:6 (7:3). Bondar in the first set, already with the score 1:1 in games, made a break and led with a score of 3:1. Next, the Hungarian could well have made a second break in a row, but this time Anna lost the advantage in the game on her opponent’s serve with a score of 40:15. However, in the middle of the game, with the score 4:2 in games, Bondar still made a second break. After that, with the score 5:2 in games, Anna, when serving for the set, at some point lost with a score of 15:40, but Bondar showed character and was eventually able to close the set with a big difference. In the second set, from the score 0:1 in games, the tennis players exchanged breaks, and then Anna lost a game on her serve for the second time in a row and settled for a 1:4 score. Then, with the score 2:5 in games, Bondar lost a game on her serve for the third time and eventually lost the set by a large margin. At the very beginning of the decisive set, the tennis players exchanged breaks. After that, Bondar and Hartono worked smart on their serves until the end of the set, which ultimately led to a tiebreaker. Anna played the tiebreaker without making mistakes, and thus the Hungarian representative closed the match in her favor. The tennis players spent two hours and twenty minutes on the court.
Yesterday Anna Bondar continued her successful performance in doubles in Jiujiang. In the quarterfinals, Anna, together with Kimberly Zimmermann, beat Xinyu Yan from China and Fan-Hsien Wu from Taiwan in three sets – 1:6; 7:5; 10:5. The tennis players spent one hour and twenty-five minutes on the court.
Martina Trevisan
The 30-year-old representative of Italy started in Jiujiang only the day before yesterday. In the 1/16 finals, Trevisan played an excellent match and defeated Wushuang Zheng from China – 6:1; 6:2. The tennis players spent an hour and a half on the court.
Martina Trevisan is currently ranked 136th in the WTA rankings.
Martina Trevisan and Anna Bondar played each other on July 15, 2022 in the quarterfinals of the WTA clay tournament in Budapest. Then Bondar made a sensation and won a landslide victory in two sets – 6:4; 6:1.
Forecast
Martina Trevisan is considered a slight favorite by bookmakers in this match. However, Bondar is also quite capable of beating the Italian on hard, so we suggest you take a chance and bet on Anna.
