Russian tennis player Anna Blinkova reached the final of the WTA tournament in Strasbourg.
In the semi-final, the 24-year-old Russian beat American Lauren Davis, world No. 58 and seeded seven, 6-2, 6-2.
In the decisive match, her opponent will be the winner of the pair Clara Burel (France, 122nd racket of the world) – Elina Svitolina (Ukraine, 508).
Pavlyuchenkova loses her first WTA tournament quarter-final since 2021
Blinkova is ranked 66th in the world rankings and has one WTA title to her credit. At the Grand Slam tournaments, the Russian woman did not reach beyond the third round. In the final at the WTA tournament, she last played in October 2022, having won the title in the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca.
The tournament in Strasbourg will end on May 27. The prize fund of the competition is €225.48 thousand.
