Ann Vossen defends test policy after ‘Sunday with Lubach’ charge

Eva Jinek confronts Vossen, a member of it Outbreak Management Team, with the non-functioning test policy and that people have to wait days for a test and then the result. According to Vossen, the Netherlands “just made it” in the summer months, and testing capacity only became a problem in September.

Sports reporter Jack van Gelder, who also sits at the table, is critical and says that the Netherlands is not in order again now that we in a second wave have ended up. He calls the testing policy “embarrassing”. “You keep lagging behind the facts and then try to adjust it.”

Boxer Rico Verhoeven is also critical and wonders whether she wants to admit that we did it wrong in the Netherlands. “In retrospect, we did not foresee the enormous increase in test demand in September,” Vossen defends.

She does not agree with the idea that the Netherlands has implemented wrong policy. Vossen does admit: “We could have prevented the dip we have now had if we had switched on the large laboratories earlier.”
