Artist from Quebec

David Leroux, from RAVI Design (named in honor of his children Raphaël and Victor), created this little masterpiece.

In videos published on Instagram, you can follow the evolution of the transformation project. We see the former hockey player taking inspiration from the beige and burgundy of the Montreal women’s team, cutting and sewing their clothes. Then, the artist removes a pair of Air Jordans that go up to the ankles, dyes the soles and assembles everything as he puts to his personal touch.

Leroux was also at the Verdun Auditorium when Desbiens received his gift. She took the opportunity to try them, resting on the ice, sitting on a net or in the stands.

“They are very comfortable, it’s better than high heels!” ensures Charlevoix athletes, who now have outstanding shoes, such as Canadian star Cole Caufield and Evgeni Malkin, from the Pittsburgh Penguins, Chris Young and Brad Miller, winners of the World Series in baseball by the Texas Rangers, or the singer Fouki.

The apple of her eye

Desbiens takes care of his shoes. They are neatly stored in their box, also made by Leroux, on his desk. She put them on for special occasions, such as the historic game at the Bell Center, or while she was taping a sports show on television. There is no question of soiling them in Quebec slush or slush.

“These are not shoes you wear to the grocery store, I won’t lie. When it rains, I don’t wear them. I choose my moments,” she says.

“It’s also a great showcase for the team’s colours. It is something unique, so we are going to see them at events,” promises Desbiens, who does not say not to collaborate with Leroux, who has been to especially famous in the past for painting goalkeeper masks.
