ANM Weather Forecast: Extreme Temperatures and Suffocating Air at the Beginning of Autumn 2023

The National Meteorological Administration has issued the weather forecast for the next four weeks, between August 21 and September 18, 2023. According to specialists, higher than usual temperatures are forecast for the beginning of autumn.

ANM meteorologists issued on Friday, August 18, 2023, Weather Forecast for the next four weeks, the interval between August 21 and September 18, 2023.

“The weather will remain warm until the end of next week in most of the country. The heat dome that will settle over the west and center of Europe will influence us through a thermal regime that will exceed the heat wave threshold in Banat, Crisana, Oltenia, Muntenia , Moldova and continental Dobrogea. The thermal discomfort will be accentuated in the western, southern and southeastern regions, where the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will reach and slightly exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. Thus, the maximum temperatures will fall between 28 and 40 degrees, thermal values ​​almost 10 degrees above the normal for the period. The sky will be variable, with temporary clouds and showers, after noon in Moldova and in the area of ​​the Eastern Carpathians and in limited areas in the rest of the mountain massifs. The wind will blow weakly and moderate, with slight intensifications in the eastern regions”, explained Oscar Stanciu, Observator weather editor.

The thermal values ​​will be higher than those specific for this week, throughout the territory of Romania, but especially in the southern regions. Precipitation amounts will be deficient in all regions, but especially in mountainous areas.

Weather forecast August 28 – September 4, 2023

The average air temperature will have higher values ​​than those specific for this interval in the southern, eastern and southeastern regions, and in the rest they will be generally close to the normal ones for this period. The rainfall regime will be excessive in the intra-Carpathian regions, but especially in the area of ​​the Apuseni Mountains and in the northern extremity of the Eastern Carpathians, and in the rest it will be close to the normal one for this interval.

Weather 4 – 11 September 2023

Average temperatures will be slightly higher than normal for this period in the southern and eastern regions, and will otherwise be close to those specific to the period. Precipitation amounts will be close to normal for this range, across the country.

Weather forecast September 11 – 18, 2023

Temperature averages will be slightly above those specific for this week in the southern, eastern and locally central regions, and will otherwise be generally close to normal. The rainfall regime will be close to normal for this period in most of the country.
