ANLA will define modification of Refinery environmental license | THE UNIVERSAL

The previous procedures to start the interconnection project of the crude plants of the original Cartagena refinery and the new refinery are progressing.

Over the weekend, the Environmental Public Hearing was held for the process of modifying the Environmental License of the Cartagena Refinery, convened by the National Environmental Licensing Authority (ANLA).

For more than 8 hours, representatives of that entity and the Refinery attended to the requirements of the citizens regarding this project, which had 25 participants.

For the audience, 5 spaces were set up in the San Francisco de Asís Educational Institution (Arroz Barato neighborhood), Pasacaballos Community Hall, Pasacaballos Technical IE, Calgary Community Hall and the Caño de Loro Community Hall. Likewise, it was broadcast on two stations, and the ANLA and Refinery social networks, said Paulo Andrés Pérez, representing ANLA.

The project will increase the nominal loading capacity of the Refinery from an average of 150,000 barrels of crude per day to about 200,000 barrels.

The interconnection of the two plants has a value close to 140 million dollars, according to Ecopetrol.

Leonardo Bayona, also a representative of ANLA, pointed out that after the hearing, the entity has three paths: one, to file the request, otherwise it receives all the required information. Two, grant the modification of the environmental license, and three, deny it.

After the hearing on Saturday, a minute will be drawn up and a decision is expected to be known in approximately 20 business days, it was indicated.
