Anker releases Eufy doorbell with two cameras for packet detection – Sound and Vision – News

What a strange vision. You either have to sit at home bored, you never order anything yourself, are a package deliverer or work at an online store. Otherwise I cannot explain this.

I work in IT and can work from home, but that requires some arrangements. No problem, especially if it’s only part of the day, it’s about my package. But now I just moved and last week I had to stay home constantly because my packages are delivered between 8:00 and 20:00. An hour before they actually come, they send a better time slot, nice to be glued to home after 5 hours.
The week before, I was unable to be home every day. So planned as much as possible on my day off (Friday). Of the 4 packages I was able to schedule 3 in advance on Friday. The 4th I had to wait until the first time was offered. 1 of the 4 packages was delivered on Friday, the rest all had first delivery before the day agreed by me. The 4th (UPS) where I could not say in advance that I wanted another date, I was allowed to pick up 13 km further at a package point.

I think it’s fine to stay home for a package. Sitting at home for half a day and shifting everything to one side too. But as disastrous as the delivery services can be, I don’t think you should expect someone to stay home for delivery. And then I haven’t even mentioned the times I was “not at home” while I sat on the couch the whole time slot waiting.

This criticism is not aimed at the parcel deliverers, they usually have to work harder than me for the money. But on the organization above it. The only one that works well in my opinion is PostNL, but only because I have everything delivered to the parcel point that is literally under my house. Delivery can still be improved a lot, which is a shame for such a country where online purchases have been great for years.
