WALL – Discussions about ‘violence’ and ‘punishment’ in sports, which started after Ankaragücü President Faruk Koca entered the field with his men and beat the referee Halil Umut Meler, continue.
The Ankaragücü community, which replaced Faruk Koca, who was arrested after the attack and had to resign from his post, with İsmail Mert Fırat, is also waiting for the punishment.
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş reacted to the allegations made publicly that “Ankaragücü will be given a relegation penalty”.
‘WE DO NOT ACCEPT THE PUNISHMENT TO THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY’
Making a statement about the incident on his social media account, Yavaş said, “The mistakes made by people should not be attributed to the 113-year-old MKE Ankaragücü community.”
Yavaş’s post is as follows: “The incident that took place after the MKE Ankaragücü – Çaykur Rizespor match played on Monday, December 11, which was not approved by anyone and was against the law of peace and brotherhood of sports and sportsmanship, deeply saddened us all. Following the incident, all units of our state took action and took necessary action against those responsible.” The legal process has been initiated. Despite all this, we observe that some circles have started to say “MKE Ankaragücü will be relegated” and that they want to create a campaign that will damage the corporate structure of Ankara’s century-old brand. We want it to be known that we will not accept an approach such as applying the penalty to the entire community. Ankaragücü It is the club of the patriots who worked, produced and died for the War of Independence, which was the holy victory of the Turks, and the Military Manufacturing. It is never alone, it is entrusted to us from our Atatürk. For all these reasons, the mistakes made by people are 113 years old. MKE once again states that it should not be attributed to the Ankaragücü community, and I sincerely believe that the entire public will act sensitively on this issue. Kind regards…”
