Sport Anita Włodarczyk’s performance at the Olympic Games in Paris was applauded in the fan zone in Rawicz. The hammer thrower achieved her best result of the season (74.23 m). This result secured her fourth place.
The Rawicz athlete advanced to today’s final (06.08.2024) from the eliminations that took place the day before yesterday. She took 12th place then. The athlete assured that the best is still ahead of her.
– I was definitely spinning too slowly in the circle, but I know I still have some reserve – she admitted in an interview with a Eurosport journalist. – I was very calm. I don’t know why I was so calm. The most important thing is that I qualified. The qualifiers are over, now I have to focus on the final – she added.
Anita Włodarczyk started today’s competition with a result of 73.17 m. This result was the best of the season. In the second and third attempts she sent the hammer closer. In the fourth series she improved. She achieved a result of 73.61 meters, and in the next – 74.23 m. She came closer to the result of the third Jie Zhao by four centimeters. Unfortunately, in the last attempt the Rawicz girl did not improve. Ultimately, she took fourth place at the games.

The athlete was also cheered on by her relatives and the inhabitants of the Rawicz region in Paris.

Behind Anita Włodarczyk, her fifth Olympic Games. She has three golds in her collection – from London, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. In her debut in Beijing, in 2008, she was sixth, but ultimately – after the disqualification of two competitors preceding her – she was placed fourth.
