A ban on entering the Brugga River near Freiburg was therefore extended until June 30, 2021, as the Freiburg Regional Council announced on Monday. Infected dead cancers were also found in the past six months. Therefore, no all-clear could be given. It has still not been possible to eradicate the so-called cancer plague in the river. The more than 18 kilometers long Brugga and most of its side streams remain closed to dogs. The pathogens found are harmless to humans, but they endanger the protected jackdaw cancer. According to the regional council, by draining side streams it has at least been possible to prevent it from spreading to other waters. The Brugga flows from the Black Forest through the Dreisamtal near Kirchzarten to Freiburg. The crab plague was first discovered in the river in March 2019. – – .
