The emergency services in Finnmark responded to a fire in a trailer that had 120 reindeer in the cargo. Just after midnight on Saturday, the vehicle is on full fire. Finnmark police have managed to free the trailer from the burning trailer, and the 120 reindeer have been released.
– The most important thing is to save them from fire, they have been released. The reindeer owner must go out and collect them himself. This is at Mazi in the plateau between Alta and Kautokeino, so it is not a big problem, says operations manager Leo Johansen to TV2.
– We do not have a complete overview of the driver, but he must be taken care of by an ambulance on site. He is said to have inhaled smoke from the fire. The trailer caught fire while it was in transport, and the reason is not known to the police, says Johansen.
