Animal rights activists satisfied: Alain Delon’s dog will be allowed to live and will not be buried with the deceased French actor

Animal rights activists are satisfied: Loubo, Alain Delon’s dog who died on Sunday, will live. However, the French actor had previously said that he wanted to be buried with his beloved four-legged friend.

Alain Delon, who died on Sunday at the age of 88, had said publicly several times in the past that he wanted to be buried with his dog, the Belgian shepherd Loubo, who is 10 years old. He said he wanted to show what an important role the animal had in his life, but his statements mostly caused concern and protests from animal rights activists. They thought it was inappropriate that the life of an animal should be so dependent on the life of a human being.

Those same animal rights activists can now rest easy. Not only had Delon himself recently changed his will – although he did not do so of his own free will, but because the law did not want to proceed – but now his children have also announced long live Loubo.

According to the Fondation Brigitte Bardot, a foundation dedicated to the protection of animals, Delon’s daughter, Anouchka, has confirmed that her family will keep the dog. “Anouchka told me that Loubo is part of the family and will remain so. They are not going to put the dog to sleep,” said a spokesperson.

There is no certainty yet, but several sources claim that Alain Delon will be buried this week at his home in Douchy.
