A citizen was arrested at noon on Holy Saturday in the area of Ioannina, against whom a case file was filed for violations of animal protection legislation.
More specifically, in the context of investigating a complaint that the citizen was earlier dragging a dog, possibly dead, with a farm vehicle, which was tied with a rope from it, police officers of the Ioannina Immediate Action Department located the citizen driving the particular vehicle, in the carriage of which a dead dog was found .
The Ioannina Police Department, which was in charge of the preliminary investigation, as reported by epiruspost.gr, took the appropriate actions to collect the animal and carry out a veterinary expert opinion by the competent services, while the prescribed administrative fine was imposed.
The arrested person will be taken to the Prosecutor’s Office of Primary Ioannina.
