The Seville horse carriage is one of the attractions and transportation in Seville. The horse-drawn carriages there were also pulled by one or two horses, depending on the size of the carriage.

Unfortunately, the temperature in Seville is up to 36 degrees Celsius, very hot and scorching. A mare that pulls a horse carriage must die because she is constantly working in the hot sun.

Observers said that the horses were severely dehydrated. Meanwhile the owner of the tourist train is being investigated for possible animal abuse.

They said that the dead mare was showing signs of fever from a previous illness. Dehydration makes the situation worse.

“The drivers looked for other horses and continued on their way in front of the police, that no action was taken to confiscate their licenses,” said Rescate de Aves coordinator Carlos Moreno.

Seville City Hall said in a statement that the animal shelter service would increase horse health checks and urged horse owners to give the animals rest and water.

This is not the first incident, the same incident occurred on Tuesday (25/4). A horse collapsed from exhaustion dancing tourists in the hot weather of Seville.

Spain’s weather agency AEMET said it would likely be the hottest April on the Iberian Peninsula since records began. It is estimated that the hot weather will peak until the end of the month.
