Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan mention the extension term of office when he was a tarawih lecturer at the Masjid Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Sleman, DIY, Thursday (7/4) night.
Anies’ remarks began when he reminded him that his term of office would expire in October this year. During his 4.5 years as DKI 1, Anies showcased a number of performance achievements in the capital city.
“Alhamdulillah, in the past four years, I have entered five years (as governor). In six months of retirement. There is no extension, sir,” said Anies, inviting the boisterous congregation of the mosque to attend.
“Eh why this applause,” he asked the congregation.
“So I’ll be in October tomorrow if there are no obstacles, if there are no changes, it’s over. So for four and a half years this has been going on Alhamdulillah serenity, the shade is built. But some of what is done to build a sense of togetherness and tranquility cannot be photographed,” he added.
Anies delivered a lecture with the theme ‘Being a Valued Human Being to Meet Indonesia Leading the World in 2045’. Anies told about his experience and performance in building Jakarta.
Anies said that for decades, Jakarta had prioritized infrastructure development for private vehicles, public transportation, and pedestrians.
“All cities don’t repeat Jakarta’s mistakes. Jakarta has been for decades, so it’s not years. If it takes years to blame someone, okay?,” Anies said to the laughter of the tarawih congregation.
“Decades, today is a sensitive matter. Yes, if I say several years, woo. What year is it, bro, right?” Anies continued, followed by the laughter of the congregation again.
With a joking tone, Anies was worried that his words recorded on the camera would be cut off.
“It’s okay to cut it,” he said.
Anies then continued the topic of his lecture. He claimed that his government is trying to change the paradigm of the priority of transportation infrastructure development earlier. Sequentially it becomes a path for pedestrians, bicycles, public transportation, and finally private vehicles.
“And when the paradigm is changed, sidewalks are built everywhere. In less than four years, Jakarta has built 341 kilometers throughout Jakarta,” said Anies.
Anies’ other lecture material was an effort to create a third room or place for interaction for residents between the first and second rooms. Build a feeling of equality, togetherness, and interaction in it. Then, build infrastructure with ideas for social purposes.
Anies also claimed to have contributed to maintaining the security and tranquility of DKI Jakarta as the node of Indonesia.
“If there is a sense of calm and calm in Jakarta, then in various places in Indonesia it is also calm and calm. If there is tension in Jakarta, the whole of Indonesia will feel tense,” he explained.
Anies’ presence as a tarawih lecturer at the UGM Mosque was also marked by shouts of ‘president’ from the congregation. The shouts of ‘president’ from the congregation responded to accompany Anies’ journey after filling his lecture to the UGM Mosque Office on the west side of the mosque.
Congregants are crowded, scrambling for selfie moments or just asking for a handshake. Not a few of the congregation then pressed each other. Anies, while spreading a smile, was seen serving the congregation with selfies and shaking hands.
“President, president, president,” cried the congregation.
It was so crowded that even security officers had to set up barricades to make Anies’ path from the center area to the UGM Mosque Office.
“Mr. Anies President,” said another congregation.
It was also found at the location of the mosque banner It reads National Volunteer, Buddy Anies, Klaten Regency #IndonesiaHasBersama OrangBaik.
