Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan met with the British Minister of International Trade to discuss MRT during his visit to Europe. Anies’ working visit was criticized by PDIP because it was carried out near the end of his term of office.
Anies’ visit was uploaded to his personal Instagram account. Before exploring the matter of MRT, Anies held a meeting with a number of students in the discussion ‘Jakarta Post-Pandemic: Smart Technology and Urban Life’, Anies seemed to be the speaker.
“Jakarta’s well-targeted development policies, such as the successful handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and a significant increase in users of public transportation facilities through the JakLingko integrated system, were also taken through the use of data and information generated by scientific research,” Anies wrote, Friday (13/5). 2022).
He said that currently Jakarta was implementing the program and was in need of new innovations. This is to overcome various challenges in managing the city after the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to meeting Indonesian students in London, Anies Baswedan also met with The British Secretary of State for International Trade, The Right Honorable Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP. The meeting mentioned discussing the construction of the Jakarta MRT.
“A productive meeting, we discussed developing a cooperative relationship to support the City of Jakarta in achieving its targets net zero emission in 2050 and exploring partnerships with the British government for the construction of the Jakarta MRT in the following phases,” he said.
PDIP alludes to the remaining term of office of Anies
Member of DPRD DKI PDIP Faction Gilbert Simanjuntak criticized the visit Anies Baswedan to Europe when the remaining term of office is less than 6 months. It is known that Anies’ term as Governor of DKI Jakarta ends in October 2022.
