Jakarta –
DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan inaugurated the Tebet Eco Park, South Jakarta, today. Anies said that later the park will also function as a retention pond as a flood control.
“Later, when the water rises, the water is stored on either side. This indeed functions as a retention pond in the rainy season,” said Anies at the location, Friday (23/4/2022).
Anies said, when it rains, the flood will flow into the river in the park. Later the flood water can be accommodated there.
“This river, later when the water rises, the water will be accommodated on either side. So, when the rainy season, the water increases, then the water will be accommodated in this park,” he said.
“So this park functions as a water reservoir when the volume of water increases in the rainy season. When the water recedes, it can be used again,” he continued.
Furthermore, he said, the provincial government has revitalized 90 parks in Jakarta to later become a park similar to the Tebet Eco Park.
