Anies Happy Covid-19 Jakarta Daily Positive Case Rise

Anies said he was happy the positive case of Covid-19 daily in Jakarta had risen.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan said he was happy that the number of positive Covid-19 daily cases in Jakarta rose. Because according to him it was in accordance with the objectives of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to find positive cases.

In fact, Anies said it is very easy if only to reduce the number of positive cases by reducing the number of tests so that the increase will look low. “But that is not our goal. Our goal is to find the positive, isolate the positive. Therefore we are increasing testing,” Anies said in Jakarta on Sunday (26/7).

When increasing testing, said Anies, residents who have been exposed will automatically increase the number of positive numbers. Therefore, Anies hopes that the community should not view it as a big problem with the increasing number of cases.

“If we find, it means we reduce the problem. Imagine if you do not find it, he goes to his family, he goes to his workplace, he is not isolated, he continues to transmit,” said Anies.

Anies emphasized that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will continue to add Covid-19 exposure testing tests following the outbreak, although the number of additional cases will definitely continue to increase. Currently the Provincial Government is testing as many as 3,000 to 5,000 per day.

“What we have to see is the positive percentage (positivity rate). How many are tested, what is positive,” he said.

The positive percentage, said Anies, would be called safe if he was below 5 percent, while in Jakarta the current figure is 5.2 percent (dangerous if it is above 10 percent). Thus Anies asserted it would not reduce the number of tests to give the impression of safety.

“We just want to add testing so we can find positive ones who are outside, who originally didn’t know. Because 66 percent of those found positive are asymptomatic. Nah if people without symptoms (OTG) are not known to be dangerous. “We will continue to look for those who are positive without symptoms so that they are isolated, so that our people can survive,” he explained.

Cumulatively, inspection polymerase chain reaction (PCR) until July 25, 2020, there were 517,465 samples. On July 25, 2020, PCR tests were carried out on 4,925 people, 4,286 of which were performed to confirm the diagnosis in new cases, with 378 positive results and 3,908 negative.

Apart from that, for rapid test, a total of 295,072 people had undergone, with a Covid-19 reactive percentage of 3.5 percent, with details of 10,438 people being declared Reactive Covid-19 and 284,634 people being declared non-reactive. For positive cases, it is followed up with a PCR swab examination and if the results are positive, a referral is made to the Athlete’s Hospital or Hospital or is isolated independently at home.
