Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan entrusted the sacrificial animals to the sacrificial committee near his house in the Lebak Bulus area, South Jakarta. Dia slaughtered a white cow belonging to his family.

Anies was seen stroking the cow’s head before slaughtering it. He then slaughtered the cow while reciting basmalah.

“Bismillahirahmanirrahim Cows belonging to the Anies Baswedan family are ready to be slaughtered,” said an officer in the Lebak Bulus area, South Jakarta, Sunday (10/7/2022).
Anies previously also handed over the sacrificial animals to the committee at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). The sacrificial animal that was handed over was a 1.2 ton limousine cow.
Anies and his family symbolically handed over the cow to the sacrificial animal committee. Anies ensured that the black and white patterned cow was in good health.
“Allow us this morning to hand over the sacrificial animal, a 1.2 tonne cow which has been examined by the Food Security and Agricultural Livestock Service which has been declared healthy,” said Anies at JIS, North Jakarta.
Later, the cow will be taken to a slaughterhouse (RPH) in Cakung, East Jakarta. Apart from JIS, Anies also sacrificed four other cows on this year’s Eid al-Adha.
The cows were distributed at his residence in Lebak Bulus and Kuningan, West Java. Then, one cow in Yogyakarta and another in the Mosque of the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Campus.
“By saying bismillah, we hand over the sacrificial animals to the committee for distribution in Jakarta. God willing, these sacrifices are accepted and multiplied,” he said.
