Anies Baswedan’s Response to Rumors of Running in DKI Jakarta Gubernatorial Election

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Anies Baswedan finally commented on his chances of running in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election (pilgub). This happened when the number 1 presidential candidate was widely reported to be fighting for the seat of number one person in Jakarta again.

According to Anies, currently he and Muhaimin Iskandar are focused on completing the vote count for the 2024 presidential election. He emphasized that his party is still focused on the presidential election.

“We are now focusing on completing the calculation. We will focus on that,” said Anies at the Nurul Huda Mosque, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, Friday (1/3/2024).

“So now there is no need to look left and right, we are now focused on completing the struggle and this is the mandate of millions of people,” he added.

Based on the KPU’s real count data, Saturday, (2/3/2024) at 06.00, the Anies-Muhaimin pair received 31,383,949 votes or 24.49% or was in second place. Meanwhile, the Prabowo-Gibran pair won first place with 75,381,885 votes, aka 58.83%.

Meanwhile, apart from Anies, several names continue to be rumored to be running in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election next October, such as Ridwan Kamil, Rahayu Saraswati Djojohadikusumo, Ahmed Zaki, and Ahmad Sahroni.
