Anies Baswedan’s Experience Watching Formula E Jakarta 2023 from Economy Class Stands

Former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan also watched the 2023 Jakarta Formula E event which was held this weekend at the Ancol Circuit (3-4/6/2023). Instead of watching in the premium stands with ticket prices of tens of millions of rupiah, Anies and his family watch from the low-priced ‘economy’ class stands. This was said by Anies Baswedan.

For information, Anies Baswedan was the figure who initiated the implementation of Formula E Jakarta when he served as Governor. At the inaugural Jakarta Formula E in 2022, Anies came as an official. Then in Formula E Jakarta 2023, Anies and his wife and children will come as ordinary citizens.

Interestingly, Anies did not buy VIP tickets such as the Royal or Deluxe Suite, which cost Rp. 20 million. Instead, Anies and his family chose the cheap stands at Grand Stand 2E, which he paid Rp. 1 million for. Anies also bought the ticket independently.

“Yes, please come, we’ve had our tickets for a long time, buy tickets. I bought tickets, not invitations,” Anies told reporters at the circuit area, Saturday (3/6/2023).

Anies also shared his experience while watching the electric car racing event from the economic stand. In an upload on his Instagram account, Anies said that watching the Jakarta Formula E race from the stands presented an exciting and tense experience.

“Exciting, thrilling and very competitive, the 36 laps presented by the racers on the first day of the Jakarta E Prix 2023,” wrote Anies on his personal Instagram account seen on Sunday (4/6/2023).

“Our family watched the race from Grand Stand 2E, an area that is quite close to the track, resulting in an extraordinary viewing sensation,” continued the 2024 Presidential Candidate who was carried by the Nasdem Party.

Not to forget, Anies also thanked the parties involved in the success of this year’s Jakarta Formula E racing event. Anies said, Formula E Jakarta could make the economy move and make Indonesia’s name more known in the international automotive sports scene.

“Appreciation to all those who work behind the scenes, who work consistently, who work passionately to uphold Indonesia’s good name. Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly, the audience was happy, and the wheels of the economy were also moving,” said Anies.
