Anies Baswedan Visits Democratic Party, AHY: 3 Solid Parties

TEMPO.CO, JakartaAnies Baswedan with a small team from the Party NasDem and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) visited the Democratic Party DPP Office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, today. The arrival of Anies and the small group of the Coalition for Change was welcomed by the General Chair of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono alias ME.

AHY admitted that he was happy for the visit. He said the small team meeting and Anies went well and showed that the Coalition for Change is solid.

“As the host, I feel happy and happy. The meeting went well, fluid, and full of togetherness spirit. This shows three solid parties,” AHY said in his statement, Thursday, February 2, 2023.

“Today, I met the General Chairperson of the Democratic Party, to provide direct updates and also discuss various matters,” said Anies.

Anies then explained the political stance of the three Coalition for Change parties which had one vote in support of him. On October 3, 2022, NasDem first declared itself as a 2024 presidential candidate.

On January 26, 2023, it was the Democratic Party’s turn to express support for him. Meanwhile, PKS confirmed its commitment with the Change Coalition and supported it on January 30, 2023.

“Furthermore, this small team discussion will be more technical and more solid to prepare for the journey ahead,” he said.

NasDem Party small team envoy Willy Aditya said the gathering dismissed accusations of weakening the solidity of the Coalition for Change. Previously, NasDem’s visit to the Gerindra Joint Secretariat (Sekber) and the National Awakening Party (PKB) which continued to the Golkar Party raised questions about the fate of the Change Coalition.

“This proves that the rumors stirred up by the media are not true. We are principled, once the sails are raised, we abstain from ebb,” he said.

He explained that NasDem’s visits to a number of other political parties were an effort so that political traditions would not go backwards. “Our visits to other parties are so that our politics does not set back. That is the political morality that we uphold,” said Willy.

After visiting AHY, Anies Baswedan and his small team are scheduled to visit the offices of the supporting political parties, namely PKS and NasDem. This visit is to strengthen solidity and finalize winning strategies and works.

First Bacapres with Adequate Voice Support

The head of the Anies Baswedan team, Sudirman Said, said that one by one the support from political parties for Anies Baswedan as a 2024 presidential candidate has been officially announced.

After the NasDem Party and the Democratic Party, PKS finally caught up by affirming its commitment to be part of the party supporting Anies in the Change Coalition on Monday, January 30, 2023.

Said explained that this confirmation of commitment by PKS showed that Anies was the first presidential candidate to receive official support in sufficient numbers. This means, he said, the Coalition for Change is preparing to quickly learn towards the 2024 Presidential Election.

“Today, Pak Anies is the presidential candidate who has received sufficient official support for the first time. This means that the ship of the Coalition for Change is getting ready to sail through various challenges,” said Sudirman in the Soekarno-Hatta Airport area, Monday, January 30, 2023.

He said the leaders of the Coalition for Change political parties would meet in the near future. They are scheduled to draw up and agree on a coalition charter.
