Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan submitted everything to Bawaslu regarding the report after touching on the ownership of presidential candidate number 2’s land Prabowo Subianto during the 2024 presidential election debate. Anies said that Prabowo’s land issue used data revealed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)
“This was all discussed in the debate. What was discussed in the debate should also be responded to in the debate,” Anies was reported as saying BetweenThursday (11/1/2024).
Anies handed over all the problems to Bawaslu because the only person who could judge whether the report was worthy of being forwarded or not was that institution. According to Anies, as a citizen, anyone can report anyone because it is the right of every citizen.
“As citizens, of course you have the right to report, but Bawaslu also has the right to determine which ones are worth following up on and which ones don’t need to be followed up at all. We leave that to Bawaslu,” he said.
Anies admitted that the data revealed during the debate came from President Jokowi during the presidential candidate debate in the 2019 presidential election. For this reason, when the data submitted is wrong, said Anies, it is not only him who should be at fault, but the main source.
“I actually used the data submitted by President Jokowi. The data has a reference, so if it is considered problematic, yes, we will see what the reference is,” he said.
It is known that Anies was reported to Bawaslu for bringing up Prabowo Subianto’s land ownership in the third presidential election debate. Bawaslu will coordinate with the Indonesian KPU in following up.
