Anies Baswedan Meets with SBY and Democratic Elites in Pacitan, East Java

Candidate for President from the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) Anies Baswedan visited the Chairman of the Democratic Upper House Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) in Pacitan, East Java, Thursday (1/6).

The meeting took place at the SBY-ANI Museum and Art Gallery complex on Jalan Lintas Selatan, Pacitan.

A number of Democratic elites, Democrat Ketum Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), to members of Anies’ small team participated in the meeting.

Quoting from detikJatim, Anies and high-ranking Democrats began to enter the meeting room at 13.40 WIB. The event took place closed until finished at 15.00 WIB.

Furthermore, SBY, followed by dozens of people, appeared to leave the meeting room. They walked through the front porch of the museum. The group looked towards Wisma Drupadi on the right side of the building. There is no official information on what chats continued at the second location, it’s just that the duration reached almost 2 hours.

Anies is said to be in the third car followed by a convoy of 2 other cars.

Anies left the SBY-ANI Museum and Art Gallery complex to the west without saying anything to journalists.

One of the Democratic elites who were there, Andi Arief, did not answer when asked about the meeting. He, who walked with several people to the museum grounds, was reluctant to comment. He rushed in after officers opened the gate.

Separated, when contacted CNNIndonesia.coma member of the eight KPP team, Sudirman Said, said that one of the meetings between Anies and SBY was to discuss the situation of democracy and state administration in Indonesia, which they considered to be getting worse.

“Team 8 together with Mr. Anies met the 6th President, Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. We had a long discussion, especially discussing the worsening situation of democracy and state administration,” Sudirman told CNNIndonesia.comThursday night.

Sudirman said that this problem has increasingly forced the coalition supporting Anies to accelerate consolidation in the future. He said that the Anies coalition read the people’s mood and wanted improvement.

“Especially in state governance, political ethics, law enforcement, and corruption practices which are increasingly coloring state management,” he said.

Regarding the cawapres figure, Sudirman claimed that Anies and SBY did not discuss the technical issue of the timing of the declaration of the RI-2 candidate that they would champion in the 2024 presidential election. He said Anies is now assisted by Team 8 in finalizing the cawapres options.

Anies has a small team called Team 8. This team consists of Anies and representatives of NasDem, PKS, and Democrats. This team has a duty to help find and provide input for vice presidential candidates who will accompany Anies.

“After the final, we will find a good day to announce it,” said Sudirman.
