Anies Baswedan Gains Increased Support from Political Parties for 2024 Presidential Election

Number of political parties supporting the former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate in 2024 presidential election increase

Initially, the NasDem Party carried Anies as a presidential candidate. NasDem Chairman Surya Paloh declared Anies in October 2022.

After that PKS and Democrats expressed support for the former education minister. These three parties then formed the Change Coalition for Unity (KPP).

The following is a list of parties that support Anies in the 2024 presidential election:

– NasDem

Anies was officially declared as the 2024 presidential candidate by the NasDem Party on October 3, 2022.

The declaration was announced directly by NasDem Chairman Surya Paloh at the NasDem Party DPP Office, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta.

“This is why NasDem finally saw the figure of Anies Rasyid Baswedan. We believe that thoughts from a good macro-micro perspective are in line with what we believe in. We entrust the nation’s journey forward, God willing, if Anies is elected, he will lead the nation to become a more dignified nation,” said Paloh.

– Democrats

The Democratic Party’s DPP Upper House has officially strengthened Democratic support for Anies as the 2024 presidential candidate.

“The meeting of the High Council of the Party is a legal ruling for the Democratic Party according to the 2020 AD/ART, the authority of the High Council of the Democratic Party is to determine the coalition in the election and determine the presidential and vice presidential candidates,” said Democratic General Secretary Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono at the Democratic DPP Office, Jakarta, Thursday ( 2/3).

“The decision we presented at the meeting last night was manifested in the meeting earlier in the presence of Mr. Anies, hopes for aspirations and further strengthens Mr. Anies’ determination to continue to fight and become stronger and have more confidence that he is not alone. We are the Democratic Party from the center and the regions,” he explained. AHY.

Anies also received support from PKS. PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu delivered the declaration in person at the PKS DPP headquarters, Thursday (23/2).

“Alhamdulillah, the discussion on narrowing down the figure in question fell on Anies Rasyid Baswedan. We will promote him to become a national figure. And God destined him to be president,” Syaikhu said.

PKS’s decision to support Anies was the result of a PKS Shura Council VIII deliberation decision. Syaikhu said that this decision had also gone through a process of deliberation and was discussed carefully by a number of parties.

– Ummah Party

The Ummat Party also confirmed support for Anies.

This support was revealed by the Chairman of the Ummat Party Syuro Council Amien Rais at the closing of the Ummat Party’s first national working meeting (Rakernas), in Jakarta, Wednesday (15/2).

“So, earlier regarding the president, his name was directly mentioned Anies Baswedan,” said Amien.

– Masjumi Party

Chairman of the Masyumi Party DPP Syuro Council Abdullah Hehamahua revealed that the decision to support Anies had been made at the Masyumi Syuro Council meeting last Sunday (4/6).

“We officially support Anies. I, as chairman of the Syuro Council, made the decision with friends from the Syuro Council. Lastly [rapat] Last Sunday,” Abdullah said CNNIndonesia.comFriday (9/6).

The former KPK adviser explained that the Masyumi DPP had issued instructions so that administrators at the DPW, DPC and all cadres level would help win Anies.

However, until now the coalition supporting Anies, NasDem, Democrats, and PKS has not yet named Anies’ running mate for the 2024 presidential election. They are still working on the names of potential partners for Anies.
