Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan opens his voice regarding candidate pair program number 2 Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka which the President’s government is starting to discuss Joko Widodo some time ago.
Previously, Jokowi also discussed the free lunch program promoted by Prabowo-Gibran for the 2024 presidential election at the cabinet meeting Monday (26/2) with the agenda of discussing the 2025 RAPBN.
“But if there is no decision yet and it has already started, there is another ethical issue here,” said Anies at a restaurant in the Sunter area, Jakarta, Friday (1/3).
However, Anies views that the government’s steps in accommodating the various programs of the elected presidential candidates are actually good. For him, it would be troublesome if the outgoing government did not want to accommodate the various programs of the elected president.
Anies reminded that there has been no official decision on the winner of the 2024 presidential election from the General Election Commission at this time. Referring to Law no. 17 of 2017, the results of the 2024 presidential election will only be announced no later than March 20.
According to him, this should be accommodated when there is an official decision by the KPU regarding the winner of the presidential election.
“It started after the KPU legally decided that A, B, C were the winners. Based on that, the government called the winners. What is the program? What should be included in the RAPBN? Well, that’s good,” he said.
“What we have experienced is troublesome, after being elected as cagub, then the governor in charge doesn’t give us space, wow, that’s troublesome,” he added.
Anies said that the KPU’s decision regarding the winner of the presidential election will later be used as a legal basis by the government to accommodate the program of the presidential candidate who wins the presidential election. He considered that it would be a question if the program was accommodated but there had been no decision by the KPU.
“What is the legal basis for holding a meeting to discuss the program? The legal basis is the final decision. But if there is no legal basis, it becomes a question. What is the legal basis?” he said.
“But the spirit is good, but it must have a legal basis. The state works according to the rule of law. Not taste,” added Anies
Previously, President Jokowi stated that the 2025 RAPBN would be adjusted to the programs of the elected presidential candidate. During the meeting, Jokowi and his subordinates discussed a number of important issues including the 2025 RAPBN.
“RKP (Government Work Plan) and fiscal policy are a bridge to maintain balanced development and accommodate the programs of the elected president as a result of the 2024 presidential election,” he said at a plenary cabinet meeting, last Monday.
In fact, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto confirmed that the Prabowo-Gibran couple’s free lunch program was included in the 2025 RAPBN.
According to him, the Prabowo-Gibran program can be implemented even though the government has predicted a 2025 APBN budget deficit of around 2.4 percent-2.8 percent.
