FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Presidential candidate (candidate) number 1 Anies Baswedan could not or could not be a speaker in a discussion at Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Friday (17/11).
It is known that Anies Baswedan canceled his attendance at the “IDN Future Studium Generale 1.0: Finding a Just Development Path in Indonesia’s Future” event because there were parties who were blocking him.
Muhammad Khalid, Chair of the IDN Future Studium Generale 1.0 Discussion Committee, stated that the committee received information H-1 that Anies was not permitted to attend the event. He even threatened to disband the event if Anies continued to attend.
“We got H-1 information. There are parties who don’t like and obstruct the presence of Mr. Anies. There is even a threat to cancel the event if he remains present,” he told reporters, Friday (17/11).
This discussion, organized by Bersama Indonesia, was attended by 500 young people and took place at the Master of Management Auditorium, Faculty of Economics and Business, UGM, Yogyakarta, from 13.00 to 17.30 WIB.
This event is an initiative of Indonesia Future, a social and political movement initiated by a group of young people through the Bersama Indonesia platform.
Apart from Anies, two ambassadors, Lars Bo Larsen (Denish Ambassador to Indonesia) and Lambert Grijns (Dutch Ambassador to Indonesia), also canceled their presence at the event.
Speakers who attended this discussion included Elisa Sutanudjaja (Executive Director of Rujak Urban Studies), Tri Mulyani Sunarharum (UGM City Planning and Development Expert), Alfath Bagus Panuntun El Indonesia (UGM Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Lecturer), and Prof. Sulfikar Amir (Urban Sociology Expert from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore).
