Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar Participate in Healthy Walk with Community

SIDOARJO, KOMPAS.com – Prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates for the Change Coalition Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) took part in a healthy walk with the community on Jalan Pahlawan Sidoarjo, East Java (Jatim), on Sunday (15/10/2023) morning.

Thousands of residents who attended seemed to welcome the Anies-Cak Imin (AMIN) couple enthusiastically.

According to Kompas.com monitoring at the location, Cak Imin arrived first at the healthy walk location at 16.35 WIB. Cak Imin was seen wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and a green vest.

Residents seemed to be scrambling to take photos with Cak Imin. They also asked to shake hands with Cak Imin.

After jostling for a while, Cak Imin managed to climb onto the stage which resembled a bridge.

“Thank you, my brother, who brought the words ‘I love AMIN’,” said Cak Imin from the stage.

Anies wore the same clothes as Cak Imin. He was seen arriving at the location at 07.00 WIB.

To reach the stage, Anies seemed to have difficulty because he was jostling with the public.

“Please give way to Anies, greet him later. Turn left, Mr Anies. Go straight to the top stage,” said Cak Imin.

“Thank God Anies escaped everyone’s grip. Does our life need to change? It’s time for change. Change! Change! Change!” he exclaimed.

According to Cak Imin, there were 1 million people who came to this healthy walking event.

He told Anies that this was the event with the largest crowd they had ever attended.

“Mas Anies, there were 1.2 million people who came,” said Cak Imin to applause.
