So I started drowning it at work, it became me I was a workaholic and often went to the pulpit. I went to sing even with a fever and pneumonia, because it kept me afloat. I started to create a secondary family, which I still have, thay are great, but I thought more about others than myself,” Slováčková shared, describing her life before treatment.

In the podcast, she admitted that she tried to find the cause, but doctors seemed to be at a loss. “Onc I had a dream that my dad died of lung cancer. I instantly called him to get checked out. After a month,he called me to say that he had found a great doctor and that he was fully healthy. she ordered. The CT scan revealed that I have metastases on my lungs,” Slováčková recounted, explaining that she did not take the first six months of treatment seriously.
“I had palliative chemotherapy written in those reports, but I didn’t know what that meant…” the singer described. The meaning of this term was explained to her by a doctor from the Clinic of Palliative Medicine after some time. “I told her my plan was to stop treatment and enjoy ten or twenty years of life to the fullest. But after a few sessions, she openly told me that if I didn’t take treatment, it would be a matter of a few months,” Slováčková described the moment when she realized the severity of her situation.
“It helped me tremendously to know,” she admitted, expressing her desire to make the most of the time the doctors had “measured out” for her to heal and live life to the fullest. “When I live here for a year and a half more than the current twenty-nine years, I will be very grateful,” Slováčková said openly in one of the most powerful interviews she has ever given.
