Ani Pesheva: “One Belt, One Road” is a shared global connectivity between countries and societies – 2024-02-19 11:15:30

/ world today news/ The book “Answer to the ten questions about “One Belt, One Road” by Prof. Wang Yiwei is the first book translated and published in Bulgaria by the Bulgarian publishing house Hanlin, especially on the occasion of the anniversary of the mega-initiative. On this occasion, for KMG we are talking with Mrs. Ani Pesheva – founder and director of Hanlin publishing house.

Mrs. Pesheva shares some details of the content of the new book of the famous professor, author and other works related to the Chinese mega-initiative, in which different points of view of representatives not only of China, but also of other countries participating in the project find place .

“This extremely important and interesting book, which definitely deserves attention, has recently been published, the director of the publishing house told KMG. In Answering the Ten Questions on One Belt One Road, Prof. Wang Yiwei delves into the highlights of the mega-initiative launched 10 years ago. “An Answer to the Ten Questions of One Belt, One Road” is one of the best works written in connection with this extraordinary mega-project of Chinese President Xi Jinping. It was written by Wang Yiwei, who is the most authoritative specialist in this field. The brilliant translation is by the Bulgarian Chinese scholar Alexandra Angelova. The introduction to the book is by the renowned historian and expert on Sino-Indian relations, Prof. Tang Jun. It is a great honor for us to publish this book in Bulgaria, because it is unique, it gives clear answers to various questions and doubts about the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, and it will be useful for everyone who is interested in and deals with economics , international politics, Chinese studies and modern China studies.

Q. Please tell us, as the publisher of this book and others related to China and its upward development, what impressed you most about Prof. Wang Yiwei’s book?

Ani Pesheva: This book provides answers to frequently asked questions about One Belt One Road – questions about the nature of the initiative, intentions, risks, effects and future:

Here are some sample questions and their answers that the author gives: “Is this project the Chinese version of the Marshall Plan?” Isn’t the whole initiative too over the top? Will the initiative lead to a debt crisis? Does “One Belt, One Road” go against international rules and regulations? Will it have a negative effect on the environment? Will the construction of “One Belt, One Road” lead to strategic dependence on China? The author skillfully answers all questions and dispels doubts about the success of the initiative, giving examples, statistics and citing world-renowned scientists and economists.

An important element of the book is the emphasis that Prof. Wang Yiwei puts, namely: “If you want to get rich, first run the route; to get rich quick, build highways; to get rich fast, get online; if you want to get rich together, build a road that connects you. “One Belt, One Road” resolves the market failure and lack of governance caused by neoliberal globalization and builds a new type of development economy where there is a cooperative government and an efficient market.” “One Belt, One Road” is a shared global connectivity and meets the needs of building better economic and cultural exchanges where the benefits are for all.

Q. Tell us more about the author of the new book Prof. Wang Yiwei?

Ani Pesheva: Wang Yiwei is one of the leading researchers of the One Belt One Road initiative in the world. He is often referred to as “Mr. One Belt One Road.” He is a professor at the Jean Monnet Chair of the European Union, director of the Research Institute of International Relations and director of the Center for European Studies at the People’s University of China in Beijing. He is the author of numerous books, translated and published in more than 20 languages.

The Belt and Road Initiative was launched exactly 10 years ago. It is a large-scale cooperative effort aimed at building a new model of international relations, a new model of globalization, a new model of world governance that is win-win for all. Confucius said, “If a man wants to stand on his feet, he must help others to stand; if one wants to succeed, one must help others to succeed’. China’s Belt and Road Initiative aims to help other countries achieve the goals set by the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Let us recall that 68% of the reduction of poverty in the world is due to China.
