Angry to replace the battery that runs out of Rp. 300 million, this man chooses to blow up a Tesla using 30 kg of dynamite

Jakarta

One of the most expensive components of an electric car is the battery. Disappointed with the exorbitant battery price, a Finnish man chose to blow up his Tesla Model S with dynamite.

Quoted from Electrec, Monday (12/27/2021) A man named Toumas Katainen has bought a 2013 Tesla Model S. He said his car ran perfectly when he first bought it. But since touching a distance of 1,500 km, an error code began to appear.

He then sent the car to a Tesla dealer repair shop, where it was inspected for about a month. But the problem is not solved. Katainen was later told that Tesla dealers could do nothing about his car.

The only option is to replace the entire battery, which will cost more than US$22,600.

Katainen compares that US$22,600 could buy another used 2013 Model S in Finland.

“So I told them I came to pick up the Tesla. Now I’m going to blow up the whole car,” he says in the video.

To carry out his plan, Katainen enlists the help of YouTuber Pommijätkät. But it is not an easy task. Katainen and Pommijätkät manage operations at a mine in Jaala, a small rural town in Southern Finland. The group must consider factors such as the magnitude of the explosive pressure wave and the direction of the explosion to ensure safety.

The video also features a doll of Tesla CEO Elon Musk being dropped from a helicopter and ending with a huge explosion of a Model S.

Pommijätkät asked Katainen what was better: a working Tesla or an exploding car with 30 kg of dynamite?

“Sort of both. Maybe more explosions,” said the man.
