Not all farmers agree with the form of protest. For example, interest group LTO disapproves of the action. “I understand the anger, but they should not do this,” LTO chairman Sjaak van der Tak told the Dutch news agency ANP. “Farmers should not engage in any private action. This is not dignified and not appropriate.”
It has happened a number of times in the Netherlands in recent years that activists have visited politicians at home. At the beginning of this year, for example, there was a man with a torch in front of the house of the Dutch Minister of Finance Sigrid Kaag. The man was arrested and has since been sentenced to six months in prison.
