The Angoulême Francophone Film Festival will take place from August 22 to 27, 2023. This 16th edition will, as always, roll out its blue carpet, to some of the most anticipated films of the return to French-language cinema. It is again an XXL program which is announced, with already more than thirty films announced, without counting the various tributes and heritage films. A tribute will be paid to the cinema of Philippe Le Guay, who collaborated extensively with Fabrice Luchini. He is the director in particular of Women on the 6th Floor.

The jury will be chaired by Laetitia Casta, surrounded by Kaouther Ben Hania, Monia Chokri, Anne Holmes, Jean-Louis Livi, Rachel Khan, Souad Massi, Raphaël Quenard and Zep. The jury of French-speaking students will be chaired by Lola Dewaere.

The opening film will be La Petite by Guillaume Nicloux, in the presence of Fabrice Luchino, and the closing film will be Flo by Géraldine Danon, a film dedicated to sailor Florence Arthaud.

Discover below the 9 films of the competition, followed by the previews. Several other selections, including some highlighting first feature films, are also on the program.

Note among the highlights, the giant session of this edition will return to Tarek Boudali of the Fifi band, with the sequel of 30 days max, entitled 3 days max. Farewell Vinyl by Josée Dayan, with Isabelle Adjani, freely adapted from the novel À cœur perdu is also part of the events of this edition.
