Through the LinkedIn social network, the agency reported that the issue was addressed the day before by the head of Angolan diplomacy, Téte António, in a meeting with the ambassador here of the South American country, Rafael Vidal.
During the audience, which lasted approximately 30 minutes, the foreign minister also thanked the gesture of the Brazilian Government of decorating the outgoing Angolan ambassador, Florêncio de Almeida, with the “Grã-Cruz de Ordem do Rio Branco” in its territory.
The distinction, which bears the name of the patron of Brazilian diplomacy, José Maria da Silva Paranhos Júnior, was granted by President Luís Inácio Lula da Silva in recognition of the work carried out by the Angolan diplomat, reported Mirex.
According to the source, António and Vidal discussed the need to increase bilateral cooperation and exchanges between delegations from the two countries, especially at the highest level.
Although there is still no communication of exact dates, Angola is preparing to receive the visit of Lula da Silva, which, if it occurs, would be the first official trip of the statesman to the African continent after taking office in January 2023, reported Mirex.
According to the institution, the presidential visit would be focused on new projects and investments.
