This information was provided yesterday, Thursday, 28, by the Attorney General of the Republic, at the year-end greetings held in Luanda, having reaffirmed that that body, as in previous years, maintained the activity of the Public Prosecutor’s Office functional .
Hélder Pitta Grós made it known that these actions to prevent and combat crime, with emphasis on crimes of embezzlement, money laundering and other related crimes, allowed the recovery of financial and non-financial assets worth around 2 billion of dollars.
Still in relation to that type of crimes, the Attorney General’s Office worked on 530 criminal cases and 653 investigation processes, at a time when the institution admitted to its staff 17 new magistrates from the Public Ministry, now having a total of 634.
With staff still insufficient, the magistrate reported that 183 auditors have completed theoretical/practical training and are awaiting their inauguration as magistrates of the Public Ministry, while 342 new justice technicians from different categories were admitted this year, Now it has two thousand 92 employees, including technicians and general regime employees.
“Despite the admission competitions held, the current staffing of Public Prosecutor’s Office Magistrates and Justice Technicians is still insufficient in the face of labor demand, with emphasis on procedural matters, in the services of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in preparatory instruction and the courts. of first instance”, he lamented.
