The Angloys were aiming for victory in a poorly ranked. Saturday evening, they left with their heads down, with three goals in the suitcases (3-0). At home, Léo Matignon’s partners were however in a negative spiral, with two setbacks. But they curtly dismissed the Basques in just three minutes after the break.
Deprived of grass, the CAN found refuge on its synthetic ground approved for the N3. Sassatelli absent, Yoann Rivière officiated as the last rampart of Neuville Haut-Poitou.
The first two chances of the game were to the credit of the locals. Soumah, well launched in depth, lacked speed in the last gesture and saw an Anglo defender deprive him of a good ammunition (10th). In the process, Pintault fired a missile which curled the post of Fontan (12th).
Neuville dominated the debates and Diaby found the framework of a vigilant Fontan (15th). Half an hour into the game, Soumah collapsed in the area following a duel with the Anglo goalkeeper, but the central referee, well placed, did not flinch.
A pole to conclude
The score was nil at the break but El Brahmi’s men were well ahead in points against inoffensive visitors. The Neuvillois started this second period perfectly. Soumah was dried in the surface. This time, the central referee designated the penalty spot. Chibah took care of the job and did not hesitate to adjust Fontan (1-0, 47th).
We didn’t have to wait long to see the goal of the break. Millimono, at the conclusion of a good job by Soumah, gave the locals a two-goal lead (2-0, 50th). At the hour mark, Anglet finally reacted. Laplace-Palette, with a header, found a Rivière on his way who almost touched his first ball of the match (60th).
Fifteen minutes later, the Genêts were going to drink the chalice to the dregs. On a cross from Millimono, Soumah, from the head, found the post of Fontan. The leather returned to the feet of Diaby who only had to push him into the back of the net (3-0, 75th). At the end of the game, Maubaret, for Anglet, touched wood (87th), but victory had already chosen its side a long time ago.
Post-match reaction
Cédric Pardeilhan (Anglet coach) “We didn’t exist physically and technically. It’s a non-match on our part. They fully deserve their victory. They put on intensity against which we were unable to respond. We don’t deserve anything else. We may have taken ourselves for others. »
