Let’s talk little, take a good look!
Surfing is above all a spirit, a lifestyle lived by millions of enthusiasts all over the world. Today, the codes and values of this sport are taken up in many areas such as fashion, travel, advertising, TV…
Women and children have never been so numerous in the water, the enthusiasm is unprecedented in Australia, the USA, but also in Europe.
As Bruno Delaye points out: In our opinion, it is essential to show the many facets of this world to as many people as possible. Each year, we propose to discover the vision of several directors, all with a different personal background. But all want to share the passion that drives them, the love of skiing, respect for the ocean and discovery.
The films presented, whether made by professionals or amateurs, shot on the other side of the world, on the most beautiful spots on the planet, or on the local spot, allow the viewer to travel and (re) discover a world of its own.
This unmissable event welcomed many international personalities from the world of board sports such as Laird Hamilton, Wayne Lynch, Tom Curren Terry Fitzgerald, or even Nat Young, who came as friends and enthusiasts but also as professionals to compose the jury which awards the 7 awards This year 7 personalities from the world of board sports will make up this exceptional jury.
2022, a new wave
This unmissable event of surfing culture and major showcase of the City of Anglet for 12 years is surfing on a new wave in 2022! This is the beginning of a new dimension instilled by the City of Anglet. By integrating the Festival into its major official events and with the resumption of the executive production of the latter, the City will offer the public new animations, a redesigned reception comfort with, in particular, larger screens.
Anglet thus marks its passion for surfing, the city’s true DNA, with this year the creation of flagship events so that this event becomes an unmissable summer festival. Of course, the artistic direction is left to its founding father Bruno Delaye who, this year again, has selected some gems.
Festival-goers will be able to take advantage of a “surf” village, with tests of surfing equipment (boards, wetsuits and accessories) organized in partnership with SportJam (company that organizes surf tests with brands), there will also be a food court where Specialties from surfing countries (Indonesia, Mexico, United States and Basque Country, of course) can be tasted.
Not to be missed: the concerts which will be offered every day around 8 p.m. with surfing in the spotlight since the artists come from the milieu such as local musicians Damien Trautmann and Astral Conversations, but also an Argentinian artist-surfer Joaco Teran and Spanish-English group Seb Heart & the Curly Heads. All will make the evenings vibrate after the last sessions.
The City of Anglet remains faithful to its policy of access to culture for all. Thus, the screenings of surf films in the open air at the Jardin de la Grotte de la Chambre d’Amour are free and open access as well as the tests of equipment and concerts.
