The soirée Pintxo Gaua will take place at Halls of the 5 Cantons this Friday, February 10, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. During this gustatory, musical and festive evening, the best pintxo and the best shopkeeper in the Halles will be elected.
Pintxo d’or and audience award
A beautiful evening is shaping up in the Halles des 5 Cantons. A pintxo evening is organised, musically accompanied by the Urrugne men’s choir: the Tarrapatakan group. Just before the official start of the evening, a jury made up of customers and employees of the Halle will blind taste a selection of pintxos from the merchants. Several criteria will be noted: the grip, the balance of flavors and the visual aspect of this specialty of the Basque Country. Following the votes, the members of the jury will elect ” the golden pintxo which will be highlighted throughout the evening« .
Election of the “best merchant of the evening”
During this Pintxo Gaua event, Les Halles customers will also have to choose the best shopkeeper of the evening. As the pintxos offered on the various stands are tasted, customers will vote live from the Halle to award the public prize.
30 artisan traders will be there to delight our taste buds: butchers, fishmongers, cheese makers, Italian caterers, a baker but also a wine merchant, a truffle grower, a foie gras specialist as well as the market kitchen section.
