The ten elected officials from the three municipal opposition groups propose that the Angers municipal council issues a wish this Monday, October 28 to oppose the financial restrictions imposed by the State, as part of the finance bill.
The notification of a levy of 5 million euros for the city of Angers alone is not sustainable, in a context where its net savings are already at zero, they write in a joint press release. This is all the more worrying given that the city has already suffered a loss of 3 million euros in transfer taxes for valuable consideration between 2022 and 2023, revenue entirely linked to the national real estate context, and that at the same time, its action goes beyond, increasingly and continuously, its areas of expertise (public safety, health, emergency accommodation, etc.).
“Rewrite a roadmap”
Elected officials from the left and environmentalists therefore suggest following the consensual approach led by the departmental council of Maine-et-Loire on October 16. The ten elected representatives of the minority thus propose to the majority of Christophe Béchu to call on the government to immediately withdraw its proposals and to rewrite a road map co-constructed and reasonable with the State where our community will know how to take its part in the collective effort.
