Last July, Angelo Bruschini announced on Facebook that he had lung cancer and that his health was deteriorating. “I have now been told ‘good luck’ with lung cancer twice by specialists in the hospital, I think I am screwed,” he wrote at the time. “I’ve had a great life, seen the world many times, met many wonderful people, but the door is closing.”
Massive Attack was formed in the 1980s and was very successful in the 1990s with the albums ‘Protection’ (1994) and ‘Mezzanine’ (1998). After playing for several bands, Bruschini joined Massive Attack in the 1990s. Bristol-born Bruschini contributed to the unique music of the trip-hop collective from southern England. The songs ‘Teardrop’ and ‘Unfinished Sympathy’ in particular are known to a wide audience.
