Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has never hidden the eccentric side of her personality. Over the years, especially early in her career, she’s had more than one shocking admission about the challenges she’s gone through.
However, in an interview with IMDB, the actress revealed that she went to extremes in her battle with her psyche.
To the extent that in 1997 she communicated with a hired killer who would… kill her herself.
“Yes, I know it’s going to sound crazy. But then I was in a really dark period and I myself was considering ending my life. However, I didn’t want such an act to weigh on the shoulders of my relatives, so I decided that it would be much more acceptable if I hired someone to do it for me and thus save my family this pain,” she reveals.
“In fact, many people consider suicide when they are young. But if I had, it would have made everyone around me feel guilty, like they hadn’t done enough to stop me. So my decision was to look for someone to fake a robbery and kill me,” she added.
The most curious thing of all, however, was that… the hired man was the one who dissuaded the actress from taking her own life.
“He turned out to be a surprisingly wise man. He told me to think about my decision and call him in two months. And if I still feel that way, he will. But he was right. Because in that period something changed and I decided that I wanted to live,” she concludes.
