The feature film tells the last week of the singer’s life, in the city of Paris. Maria Callas died at the age of 53 and spent her last days tormented by her difficult love story with the millionaire magnate Aristotle Onassis.
“There are hardly any films about opera stars,” said the director, who used Jolie’s voice mixed with original recordings of the singer for the film.
