Actress Angelina Jolie, mother of six children she shares with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, says she has a lot of confidence in her children. Twins Knox and Vivienne (15), daughters Shiloh (17) and Zahara (18) and sons Pax (20) and Maddox (22) are even her best friends. “They are the closest to me in my life. We are seven very different people and that is our strength,” she says.
Jolie also explains how she gives her children the opportunity to experience life without the constant threat of paparazzi. She often just lets them do their thing independently. “Of course I want to be there, but I also have to learn to let them go.”
In September, the devoted mother told “Vogue” that her children “saved” her. “I was 26 when I became a mother,” she said at the time. “My whole life changed. The children saved me and taught me to view this world differently. They are also better than me, because you want your children to be,” Jolie continued. “Of course I am their mother and hopefully I will remain a safe place for them forever.”
