The former envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), American actress Angelina Jolie, appealed for assistance to Turkey and Syria after the devastating earthquake that struck the two countries at dawn last Monday, killing and injuring tens of thousands.
Angelina posted, on her Instagram account, a short video clip of a rescue worker asking for help.
It also published more than one picture of the damage in the two countries, in addition to the picture of the man holding the hand of his daughter, who died under the rubble.
Angelina accompanied the content she published with a comment that said: “My heart is with the people of Syria and Turkey. It is difficult to understand the unimaginable pain that so many families are experiencing at this time.”
“I hope others will consider giving as well, so they can continue their life-saving work,” she added.
I also posted the link to the campaign that helps in Turkey and Syria to urge people to come forward.
