US actress and UN envoy Angelina Jolie has made an unannounced visit to the Ukrainian city of Lviv.

Jolie (46) has been working as a special envoy for the UN Refugee Agency since 2011. In western Ukraine she has spoken to refugees and volunteers, and has visited children in a hospital. Photos show the actress hugging children and taking selfies with medical staff.
The children were injured in the missile attack on the Kramatorsk . train station† The attack seemed deliberately aimed at civilians trying to flee. At least 52 people were killed.
“They must be in shock,” Angelina Jolie said. “I know how children can be traumatized.”

In a video distributed via Facebook, the actress can be seen smiling and waving to fans while ordering a coffee. Ukrainian Maya Pidhorodetska, who posted the video, captioned it: “Nothing special. Only Lviv. I just went to get a coffee. Just Angelina Jolie. Ukraine is supported by the whole world.’
Later during the visit, the air-raid siren went off and Jolie and her staff quickly walked to their waiting car.
Lviv, in western Ukraine, has also come under attack from the Russian army. Earlier this month, seven people were killed in a rocket attack in the city.
More than 12.7 million people have fled the war in recent months, according to the UN.
